Polish pictures

I have two Polish here is a picture of my rooster. I will try to get a picture of the hen. I have a question though, what do you guys do about the other chickens pecking at their heads when the feathers get wet? They basically leave my roo alone but the hen gets her head pecked and feathers pulled out every time it rains. I have to give her a "ponytail" to keep them off her, which is fine except when it starts raining and I am not home. Right now it has started raining and I am at work and all I can think is "I have to go home to ponytail my chicken" is there an easier way to deal with this problem?

My Silver Laced Polish...she needs a hairband... Anyone ever give their polish a haircut?

She laid her first egg today at 35 weeks.
She was having trouble deciding which nest box to use, but finally decided that going in the same box as the Buff Orpington was best.

This is my polish pullet. She was hatched late September, Early October. I don't know the exact date. I was told she was a toublant polish but she does not look like it to. I also don't think she is show quality which is what I was told as well.

Any thoughts on gender?? First two photos are my white crested black. Second two are the golden laced. Third two are my houdan.
