So couple weeks ago a fox got ahold of my lil polish and took her beak off and bit her under wing. I gave her penicillin. And shes been healing well. But she now lost weight and I noticed today shes become weak. The bottom has started regrowing but the top must have been bit off to short I've seen no regrowth on it. She tries to eat and I've even wet her food. Tonight I got mushy cat food in the squeeze toobs. She went nuts over it. Any other ideas to help her gain the weight back? I dont want to loose her. The fox ate 13 of my other chicks in one night and some how was able to grab her in the other lot with my laying hens. Shes about 13 weeks old.

Can you post some photos?

I'm sorry to hear about your losses :hugs

You may need to Tube/Crop feed here to get enough food into her. Cat food is o.k. for short term, but you may also want to get some Kaytee Baby Bird Formula or you can make a wet loose mash out of chick starter.

Are her wounds healing fine with no infection?

Here's some info about tube feeding https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/crop-feeding.75454/

This hen was injured badly, but survived - you may find the information helpful https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/plese-help-chickens-beak-got-bit-off.848424/

Yea so far wounds are healing and all clean. She has really started picking up her appetite with the cat food going to try mixing some chick starter into it. Will try and get some pics of her beak.
