Walked out to my coop yesterday a.m. and heard what is an attempt at crowing...of course I did not realize I had a roo! I believe it is a polish that my daughter just had to have several months ago. My question is, can a polish roo mate with standard size chickens (i.e. Barred Rock, New Hampshire, BCM, etc.) since he will be much smaller then they I do not know if it is possible. Am hoping not...

Depends on how much smaller he is than your girls. I have d'uccle who's maybe 1/3 the size of most of my girls. Only based on dirty areas on some of their backs, I know he's getting some action. But my eggs aren't fertilized. He's just too small for his area to line up with their area [IMG] Maybe if your roo is at least half their size???
