I have a smooth polish rooster, Frizzled polish rooster, smooth silkies, Frizzled silkies, Frizzled satins and smooth satins. If I breed a Polish rooster to the silkie hens, would it result in a satin? Or is there a reason people breed them to cochins? I'm trying to figure out a good way to get more Frizzled satins, as I only have 2 hens that I have bought off of someone. I know not to breed frizzle x frizzle, I have lots of little polish chicks running around half Frizzled half smooth.

To be honest this is the first time I hear about Satins.. What are they? the silkie feather mutation is recessive, I've seen Silkie crosses and most of them are hard feathers, so if I understand correctly Satins are mid way between Silkie and hard feathers? how is that accomplished?

The far one on the right is a satin, I'm not sure what color scheme that is ... He's a funky boy.

Here's some pictures of my frizzled satin hens. They still have all of the silkie traits, and really soft feathers but they aren't like normal silkies.

No the offspring wont be "satins" as they are silkie/cochin bantam crosses bred back to the silkie standard while retaining hard feathers. Silkie cross polish will just give you crosses nicknames "polskie"
