Lucky you! I love NoseyChickens buff laced frizzles! I will have to get some eggs from her when I get my chicken numbers down!

Her white Ameraucanas are on my list to get also. You are getting all the bantam breeds that I want! If you want something that is unusual and super friendly, try the lavender Ameraucanas. They are the friendliest color in the Ameraucanas and so pretty (my Avatar is my chicks) and I will have hatching eggs available this coming spring

I have a polish roo and some naked neck turken hens.

If I cross breed will I get naked necks with the head crest like a polish has?

I want my NN's to have the crest/beard like the polish. and maybe next summer cross those babies with my cochin/polish mixes to get feather footed/crested/bearded naked necks

edited to add that those frizzle polish look amazing!

You are so lucky - being married to an enabler! I wanted to have mine in the house but he won't let me. I had a rabbit in the haouse, and she was great, until she peed in his lap, and since then nobody comes inside. I'm wondering when I shall have to sleep in the basement

(and a really cute chick you have too - will have to post some of mine)

They only live in the house until they are old enough to go outside. Those guys are outside already. I just brought them in to take the pictues. But I don't want them living inside past the chick stage. Too much dust.

Around here in the high desert summers, the chicks can go outside within a few weeks. NoseyChickens all of your birds are lovely even the silly runner ducks

Guibs you need to try crosses and post them when you have them started. So far I have seen NN/Ameraucans, NN/brahmas and a few are working on
NN/Faverolles which also have feathered feet and of course there are many who have the showgirl NN/Silkies. Feathered feed is dominate. The crest will show up but I do not know about the quality. I do know that it takes tons of breeding and culling to get what you are looking to get. I have seen some crosses that I think are not good looking at all but to each his own. Cross breeding is one of the fun things about chickens although most breed only to preserve or attain the best of the breed.

This is Mick. He was my "free rare breed" when I orded my other 25. I'm pretty sure he is a buff polish crested...isn't he? He's a silly bird.

Guibs- we did a cross between our Gold Lace Polish Roo & Speckled Sussex hens this year (plus the Sussex/Faverolle cross hen was in there too) as we LOVE the Tolbunt..... but can't see spending the cash people are asking for them that I've found. We just hatched the first cross chicks out this weekend...... they don't seem to have a crest yet- maybe it will come in a little bit still when they feather out. Our plan is to keep all the hens & roos that are colored/typed the closest to take back to the Gold Lace hens & roos in the spring. (maybe the buff & blue lace hens & roos too) to bring type back to were it should be........ then- well- we'll see how the project continues.

Have you thought of using Showgirls instead of NN? they have the feather feet & a bit of crest already.
