I believe you have a black crested black polish. It is not uncommon for the down to be this color and for the two feathers on the wing to be white. It will molt that out.

Here is my girl (I hope, I hope, I hope) GaGa. She's 3 weeks old and I am so in love with her. And looking at all of your beautiful adults makes me so excited, I can not wait for my chicks to become hens!

Please ignore the deodorant! She really likes to hang out up there!

So, I realize that it is WAY too early to tell if she is a she but anybody want to take a guess?

I am not able to keep a rooster, so if she isn't a she, I'll have to rehome her. And be heartbroken!

Any guesses?!

I just picked up yesterday some standard Polish chicks from Duane Urch in Owatanna MN. They are the most beautiful chicks I have ever seen !! 2 of them are white crested blacks and two are yellow but not sure what their going to look like. I got 7 total. I bought 2 polish yesterday at an auction roo is a golden laced and hen is a buff laced the roo just crowed about 10 mins ago for the first time since i bought it and the thing scared the heck out of my cats... lol when i get a cam i will post pics.

I've got an Easter Egger x WCB Polish in my bator right now. . . Waiting for the next two to pop out as well.

Also waiting for my Tolbunt Polish to pop out any hour!

An interesting thing is, my EE x WCB should be either white, gold and white, black, or gold and black (so far I have a gold and white who's 3 weeks old and a black who's minutes old) but they should all have small crests. . . . These chicks so far have none. Anyone else with Polish crosses had clean-headed chicks, but small crested adults? I'd love to think that they just need to mature, then they'll get a nice little poof.
