I don't think so, they usually say it takes a few months to sex Polish.

I'll be in that boat with you soon, I have 10 "day olds" coming in the mail.

Here is one on my Splash chicks that was hatched 2 days ago..

Hello to everyone. I am new to the chicken world and have absolutely fell in love with Polish Chickens. At first I purchased 3 (two silver laced and one blue) because the hatchery didn't have gold laced which I wanted really bad. So I set out a search for some gold laced eggs or older hens, although I wanted babies. Well I happened into the hatchery the other day and low and behold they had gold laced!! I got three of them hoping for a trio

as I want to breed them. They were sold as st. run. If I get lucky and at least have one roo from my 6 polish, what colors have people got from these colors before? Has anyone here mixed silver laced, blue or gold laced? If so, what were your color outcomes?

Lolita - they are from an auction here on BYC, all White Crested, but a mix of blue (my fave

), black, white, khaki, and chocolate - with 50/50 chance for any of them to also show up frizzled.

I also have a broody sitting on six polish eggs. They should hatch by Saturday - but at last candling, only one looked really good, so that's why I bid on day olds to take their place (and of course crazy chicken math explains how 10 day olds would take the place of 5 eggs

As to sexing them, the top feathers are the best way I've found. Look at some pix and you'll see the ladies are more of a full, round, afro type poof. They guys top crests are taller, but not in such a tight poof - more dreadlock-y, long and dangle-y-ish . . . . . if that makes any sense

I'm a Polish nut. Unfortunately I have 2 dozen late eggs in the bator, but not one Polish has hatched. I'm getting Olive Eggers Like crazy.

I love your pics!

Columbian Polish? How gorgeous!

This is what I meant about the top hats, 1 is completely different right now anyway
