cool. The only reason I did not get the Polish first was that I read (cant remember where, was in a mag I got) they tend to overheat because of the crest feathers.

I'm in North Florida and it is pretty hot and humid here. I have them on sand and the run/coop is covered. I would wet the sand down in the morning before I left and they would lay in it. I also gave them frozen treats to help. The coop is open air and is built under an arbor with vines growing on top to help keep it cooler. There were days when the walked around with their wings open to cool but no they did fine.

anyone else on here try to water with the automatic watering cups that attach to the cage and have a little float that when the chickens peck it releases water in the cup. If so please tell me how you got them to use it. I have had mine installed for a week and they still will not peck it to get the water to come out. It is there only water supply. I did everything the manuf said and still they arent doing it right,

Can anyone help me figure out what color my EINSTEIN is? I love him to death and love his color.
When we first recieved him at a few weeks old he was ALL white with a black spot under his left wing,
then with in a month he started to get reddish in his top hat and black and now he is white with
Reddish and black all over. VERY Beautiful!! Heat shot not showing up yet.
There may not be a specific name for his color but if there is please let me know.

He reminds me of a Tolbunt, but i would awsume he would have more black unless he is very young and maybe get the black in after i never had a tolbunt color polish so i am not sure on if there black comes in after.

If not tolbunt then he is a cross colored , white with laced perhaps gold laced

I have one just like him............. I think his dad was named Einstein... hehe Dad was a WCB, Mom I think was a BL.... not sure

Bunnylady, those 2 WCR frizzled crosses came from my WCR Polish X Frizzled Cochin roo over WCR hens. I haven't gotten to hatch any..... have to put some in the bator now that I've seen them... LOL
