Thanks Steve. He's a riot. He jumps up onto my lap and crows. I think he's in LOVE!

I wish I could say that - all but one of my Polish roosters are pretty indifferent where *I* am concerned, but they just LOVE their ladies, and the ladies love them, so I've had to take a back seat...

The one that is not so indifferent is a WC splash - he'll flog me when I turn my back, and then run like a bat outa hell, screaming like a banshee. I pick him up and hold him upside down like a football, and carry him around like that til he stops screaming, and we're good for a couple months. Otherwise, he's quite the character, so I keep him around. We just have a love/hate relationship.

I have a couple of roos that are that way..Just in a different breed...I keep telling myself they are protective of the hens(so I don't think they just don't like me

LOL Kat!!! Quite the visual!

I have a Black Rosecomb that's working on my last nerve. He's going to a new home this week. I'm tired of getting flogged every time I turn around.

Our cockerel Polish cuckoo Phil, is a lover. H acts like a cat, in and out of my legs, drives me nuts. I don't want to kick him or step on him... But my blue cockerel Silkie, he's a meanie. as soon as I walk into the run, he's on attack mode. I brick a piece of board w/me now and just shoo him away. He mad as hweck with that tho.... I just have to be on my guard. I haven't been hurt yet, but.....
I remember my black silke roo, he was meam too. so I stuck him in w/the big girls.... after 3 days they loved him and he left me alone!

So I was the blessed recipient of Noskiveez Buff Laced Polish flock... 1 roo and 6 pullets. I already have a BL hen so that gives me 7.

I also have a half breed Ameraucana X BL Polish roo and a WCBlue X BL Hen.

Most of them hatched the end of March.

When can I expect them to start laying and when can I hope for the roo to start doing his roosterly duties?

They are all so docile. I've been feeding them and letting them go crazy on my north lawn and they love it.

At 7 months I would think they would be ready to start laying...I'm going to put a couple of them under my Blue Wheaten Ameraucana roo so that I can make some Polish EEs that lay blue.

Oh I forgot to mention, I named all of my BBL polish and I can tell them all apart. My family thinks I'm nuts.

Roo... Leroy.

Pullets...
Lucille
Leonore
Lighty
Loni
Lorraine
Lacey

Oh and my hens

Big Bird.. (she's also a BBL) and her daughter

Spot. She is the WCBlue X BBL.. .she's all white with a black spot on each side on her wings.

Oh... and my other roo... the Blue Wheaten Ameraucana X BBL (Big Bird)... His name is Mo.. short for Mohawk.
