I do show some of our Polish which I have got from breeders but, they're up in age and their future is looking dim. They haven't been producing eggs and there's a slim chance they may have chicks this year but, it's close to not happening. So now I need to find more xD Last year I got one from IFA and it was of good quality for a hatchery chick. I"m just hoping by some chance I'll get the quality chick which is not looking to my favor.
This year I've contacted SEVERAL breeders (as in, every Polish breeder on the BYC - Seller breeders list. And searched the internet for anyone selling chicks.) I haven't came across another breeder yet thats willing to sell so I think I'm just going to have to give in and hope for the best a hatchery can get.

Ah, that's what I feared.

Technically he is not a crele, so all the things I said earlier about his breeding x other colors will be different.

Creles, being duckwing or partridge w/barring, have color on their secondary feathers. He doesn't. So either he's a split for something other than E/E or he's a barred birchen / brown-red.

Hiya I looked at pics of the above, and cannot see any resembelance.. Secondary feathers are they on the wings?? as he has barred wing feathers.. I get all confussed with all these colours lol.

He does look to be barred brown red. This is the pattern we are going for in the states. the guy who started the crele line here in the U.S. is a friend of mine, however he does not have the best grasp on genetics and thought that any bird showing red and gold barring was a crele. Truth be told they are more akin to Golden Cuckoo Marans in patterning, when in the proper pattern.

The hen you'd want for him is going to have a black and white barred body with a golden barred neck.

I have mentioned to him several times that he ought to change the name to reflect the proper patterning, but he feels that as they are his creation he can call them as he sees fit. Actually should he ever change the name it would help to seperate the properly colored birds from all the "junk" ones that are floating around in the U.S. and would also make it much more likely that they would be accepted into the standards.....if there ever gets to be enough of them.
