I was looking into buying hatching eggs from breeder for black crested white polish and was told that they do not breed true. Now I do not know if he was referring to his birds or all BCW polish.

I thought Black Crested White Polish had a black crest with a *totally white body*?

Black Crested Whites should be what the name stands for but with very few breeders "breeding" them out there the bloodlines aren't really good and they take a lot of breeding and work to get to the "Black Crested White" stage.

i ordered some polish hatching eggs. should be here next week. i'm so excited. they are so cool looking. never had polish before

Honestly, none of them. If you just want them to look at, hatchery are fine and any that you buy from will work. If you want to show them or breed them, get them from a breeder. There is a WORLD of difference between hatchery and breeder Polish.

Makes sense....

Wish I could find a breeder that sells and ships chicks... It would make this so much easier

With breeder Polish and breeder Silkies too, the reason you don't find people shipping chicks is because they are so fragile. Their vaults, if bumped too hard, can cause wry neck and death. So, if you get majorly vaulted chicks and have them shipped, bouncing around in the mail, is not the best thing for them. Your best bet is eggs (and someone that packs well) or adults. Or, buying them at a show or a swap and bringing them home yourself.
