All this information on sexing is great! I have known from day one the very yellow chick was a rooster because his head piece was so different from the others, but one of the others is now looking like a rooster because I can see the V comb forming. That one was hard to sex!

The other two are no doubt girls with their round head feathers. They can't even see now and they will be 5 weeks old this Thursday.

First picture is of the obvious roo. Second picture is of the one I think is a roo. Third picture is of a positive pullet and fourth picture of the two pullets together.

I have a little edge because I had a couple of white crested blue bantams last year that went to a friend and they turned out to both be pullets. So it has helped me sex these guys. The obvious rooster is a surprise though, he's SO different from the rest of them!

Good luck sexing yours!

I just got polishes the other day! Two hens and a roo.

Calypso, the roo, is 1 year 1/2 old and so far isn't aggressive. We're really hoping he doesn't get aggressive, or we'll have to sell him.

I don't know if there are any breeders down there, but I live some hours north of you in Washington.

I do Gold Laced Polish mainly, but also Tolbunt projects and the occasional White Crested Black. I often send my birds/eggs to swaps nearby Portland.

ETA - There's a bantam breeder up here in WA, she shows and does WCB and WCC.

I see you also breed Ameraucanas. I have 3 Ameraucanas right now. In your experience how do these breeds get along. I've heard horror stories of new polish hens losing their beautiful crests do to new room mates trying to "fix their hair" for them. In a perfect world I'd love to add a White Crested Black to my family. But to be honest I haven't seen a polish I didn't like lol. Just how many hours away are we talking, lol?

ETA: Oh my goodness I just saw where your from, my DSD was just there camping last weekend!
