Polish Thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pretty sure if u special request from ideal or murray mcmurray they will . But I would get like 8 of the same so u can pick outta those the very best but I've heard u have to wait till the are older to really tell . I don't show just what I've read through out the years .

Yeah I threw a wet paper towel in there I wanna say it spiked to like 80% for a few hrs then stayed back around 65 % it did it on its own. I didn't want the humindity to high for too long cuz I didn't want them to drowned either. But my feeling is hens hatch eggs perfectly so there has to be some allowence and I feel that if the changes are gradual they will adapt just fine !!!! Keep us posted
Great news!!! 2 eggs cheeping and rolling!!!

Polishmom1744,where do you live? Your rooster albert is amazing. Maybe if you lived close enough and ever get a large and pretty rooster like him, we could trade one of mine dor new genetics.! We really need a better roo, but for now, our breeder is being replaced by hjs son. Looking to sell him for hopefully 20 bucks.

He lost his main tail feathers to molting, but if you want to drive by and buy my lovely Squirt, or if anyone wants to, we would like to sell, him! Hes very protective of his hens, but hes fine when held and has been in parades and won 1st place at my county fair over All cockerels. We will probs start the price at 25. He breeds his hens daily, and out of our polish eggs, the first hatch was 100%

Oh man. So, my Spike, my male polish, keeps getting himself into trouble. He almost got eaten one day, then got lost when he tried to run away. We couldn't find him for a long time! Finally found him and snuggled him real tight! he's a sweetie! Then a few days later I couldn't find him again, and he was floating in the duck water :( he was alive, but suffering from hypothermia. After over an hour, I finally got him warmed up. Poor thing can't see, and that's his trouble! I gave him a haircut, but it isn't good enough. I need to cut it more!

On the farm chickens were kept away from access to duck areas. For one thing ducks love to filthy up water to build up algae so they can dive for the scum and chickens will drink that filth so keep them separated. We've never trimmed our Silkies' crests. They seem to nibble each other's faces and in a day or two have little peep eye holes in their crests. Why not use a soft girl's hair band to get the crest up out of his eyes? One owner used panty hose cut in circle rings to use like soft rubber bands around the crest. My Silkies are both older hens and the crest thing doesn't seem to bother their alertness or vision. They tilt their head if they want to see overhead or behind them. The younger hens need time to adjust to the crests because we really didn't want to start cutting their feathers - why have a crested bird if you're just going to chop it up?
