Started Golden Polish Chicks, They are not much too look at when they are young. They have, the temporary, ugly duckling syndrome/scragaly look

. almost all chickens get it

Gosh, everyones birds are beautiful. Josh yours are super! Good photos too!
I have a question about genetics.
Currently I have a Silver Laced roo and a Golden Laced hen, I have only hatched a few chicks from these.
The chicks are Silver...my question is this...I was told that by crossing as I have done with the silver male and gold female I will get Silver pullets and silver with"yellow" males.
Is this correct?
Also was told that by crossing opposite, the gold male and silver female I will get a "sex link" pure gold laced females and silver with yellow sheen males.
And if I can ask another question please? My tow chicks are both silver laced.....one is black and white and is white and black

does that make any sense???? One has a pure black crest, the other a sort of silver crest.
They are young chicks but growing like weeds, sure hope they are pullets!
Thanks for the help, I am enjoying the wonderful pics!

Oh I also wanted to add that I crossed a white silkie hen with this Silver laced roo and got 10 chicks, they look like peas ina pod, everyone exactly the same. All silver speckled.
It's like a whole nuther breed. They have black skin and beaks, 5 toes, feathered legs, muffs/beards and this same black and white pattern to their feathers.
I'll try and get pics, [they are WILD] VERY pretty though!

I love your silver laced... Mine looks nothing like that.. AT ALL!!!

So how does one get Frizzled into a new breed...

I have a frizzled rooster and hen... but how to I trasport the GENE into, say... a Polish, or a Turken... Is this a 2 step process??? Im still learning the Frizzle and Silky genes..

i think you just breed, say a frizzled roo with a normal hen, and some from them chicks are frizzled and some arent. breed the ones that do have frizzling together and the chicks from those should be all frizzled.
