Okay, everyone, it is time for a Polish chick gender guess. My chickies are 5 weeks old now. Last week we agreed that Bee Gee is a boy, but the others could use y'all's guesses. Thanks ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Bee Gee = splash ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Cher - buff laced ~~~~~~~~~~~ Ringo = buff laced ~~~~~~~~~~ Star = buff laced ~~~~~~~~~~~ Marley = mottled?? golden laced?? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Ozzie = mottled?? golden laced?? ~~~~~~~~~~~~

I think bee gee is def. A roo

I posted a photo of Marley earlier at around 5 weeks, here is an updated photo at 7 weeks. I see red wattles now and she/he is the first to run for food and pretty mean to the other girls. Is it still too early to tell or is Marley a roo? Thanks in advance!

Your Marley is so CUTE. If Marley's wattles are redder and bigger than all the other crested chickens that you may have yourself a beautiful boy there. If Marley is a boy, I hope you can keep him!

Are there any shiny, extra black (more black than his regular black feathers), pointed feathers growing in on Marley's back?

Ringo - buff laced

I am seriously thinking Ringo is a boy.... There are shiny, pointed, rich gold colored feathers all down his back, and about a dozen growing in at the front of the crest. Even Bee Gee (the one with big wattles for his age) doesn't have any rooster feathers! LOL

I'll have to check on the pointy feathers. Our other crested has no signs of wattles. This is a photo of her before and after her haircut on Monday. Poor thing couldn't see anything and kept getting lost from the other girls. Marley's crest has always been swept back and has never had a problem seeing.

Now that I see your other chick the same age, I think Marley is most likely a boy. That sweeping hair you mentioned is another indicator, and those wattles are huge compared to the other polish you have.
