Could be stress related, or more likely from an injury! Where the feathers have change, was there a injury or feathers pulled out?
Sometime animal change colour with new growth.
For example is common when a cats loose fur, when it grows back it can be white.
Just a thought....
They were probably pulled out by what ever was after his flock. It could possibly been an injury.

Hey my white crested black polish rooster now has greyish white feather growing from his tail and some of his butt fluff is grey. I believe this is from attacks on his flock. He is a very protective rooster and fights for his hens. His love died and his feathers started growing back grey to white color. Why??? Could i be right about that it could have been stress caused?????
It could be damage from previous attacks but I have also noticed with my WCB girls that as they have aged they have started to get the odd white or pale feather in their black ones. Maybe an age related thing?
Here are my polish it seams like they were just a few days old not to long ago and now they are beautiful birds. To see more information on them visit C&C poultry farm.
Very nice birds :thumbsup

Looking at Pippy now I'm airing on the side of male. Those little wattles are looking pretty red. Still super cute and reminds so much of my Poppet in these pics :love

I know this is a Polish thread. And I've been speaking on my polish. But in response to you thinking he just looks so cute and you want to keep him, my Silkie that I got a few days old ended up being a rooster and I can't bring myself to get rid of him because he's so darn cute. So I'm for keeping your polish even if it is a male

Aren't they just the silliest (and ugliest) things when they molt?! I love it. They are such goofy birds. I have a Black Cochin right now that just finished her molt. Now she is beautiful and completely lives up to her name, Fuzzball, but everyone was laughing at her before because she was almost completely naked, aside from her "pants"! Molting chickens are so funny. My polish cockerel hasn't molted yet, but I will be laughing when he does!

Hello everyone well I have now officially joined Polish ownerd as I got a call last week from our local SPCA that they had found a rooster and wondered if it was my missing Silkie rooster and sent me this picture

Needless to say I called them back laughing like a loon and explained that was a Polish Tophat though at the time I didn't know he is Silver Laced but definitely knew Polish. Sooo everyone meet "David Bowie" who once he is out is quartine at the end of the month he will officially join my welcome anyone backyard flock. Yes we are excited to see what happens especially since I wasn't expecting to get an "adult" polish as I have 3 3 wk old Polish Chicks right now, a Black, a Blue and a Splash so definitely can't wait for 6 months to go by and see what pretty babies he makes with my "hopefully girls"
