No this was the first time.
3 are perfect including 1 I'm sure is a female ! 1 male looks like he has less promounced silver gene which will help cut down on unwanted yellow cape and saddle feathers! I'd say 50/50, 5 are close if not spot on and the other 5 are culls but I can tell how they'll feather out already from so much research and the few I hatched out !. I ordered the 10 to go with the 5 I will be keeping from a different source and mine own that hatched. The one's I get next spring should have even better ratios! We just gotta keep working on this breed, it will pay off in the end.

Tell me your joking I'm gunna pass out seriously a frizzled bcw that's up there with the unicorn lol!!! Do u have a pic oh and could u post a pic for all us newbees about what ur perfect bcw chick should and shouldn't look like ?????
I am still a "newbie" my self but here's what I got...

The Unicorn of chickens... her color isn't perfect but I'm breeding her it a good Roo. She's recovering from a hard molt, excuse her nakedness..lol

here is my original trio
Audrey is almost perfect...solid white with an almost solid black crest. I have seen some articles that say not to have the black speckling on the chest and some that say it's a must...I like it and will breed to keep that. Her only flaws are 1 her crest is small, 2 she has a few white tips in her crest, and her cape tends to want to lace at the ends where it meets the white. For breeding purposes she is a keeper cause it's hard to find any closer to the standard than her. Fyi she is the closest to perfect I have ever seen outside of hatchery pics or European birds online.

Cap'n Jack is ok he has beautiful speckling on the breast, and is almost solid white but has too stong of a silver gene expression so his cape and saddle feathersare yellow whick is a big NO,NO. his crest is also wrong but his body confirmation is excellent so I bred him to Audrey hoping to improve color, I hope to get a roo out of him and the frizzle too!

These last 2 pics are of Fran and Jack. Franny's base color is all wrong, she appears white from far away but is actually almost splash and her lacing gene is way too strong. However she has a SOLID black crest so her genes are Very valuable to fixing the flaws in the other two birds. So I bred her to Jack and hatched out thier eggs( got 2 great chicks including Jacks replacment who so far is SOLID white with a SOLID black crest!!!) and will be selling her next week at the auction allong with those chicks I'm culling early as I can tell they are all wrong.

So to recap..white in crest..bad, lacing...bad. flecks of black /blue in white base feathers...bad. What you want is one that looks very much like Audrey but w/o the white tipped feathers in her crest...but if you get one like her..keep it!!! You're not likely to find another. Hope this answers your questions...gonna take pics of the older chicks from these birds soon..I'll tag you in them since I know you're interested!

That would be awesome ! Thank u and sounds like ur dialed because I heard if u use a female for color she will pass on her color to only males if that's true a perfect roo is heading ur way ahaaha. Exciting I prefer the speckled necks too !!!! I'm into tolbunts and frizzling out different breeds of polish so to see that bcw is crazy..100x crazier than a tolbunt to me that's just insanity!I'll post a pic of my peeps if u want let me know what u think !!!
