Polish Thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi, hope everyone is well :frow

Next year I will have two breeding groups of polish (fingers crossed) I was wondering what colours I will get from this group

Silver laced roo
Chamois, gold laced and wcb hens.

My second group will consist of all gold laced hens, I will be looking for a new roo in the spring what would you guys reccomend to go with these girls?

Many thanks in advance.

The recommendation is really up to you. Since they're all mixed colors, it's just up to what you want to see come out of them. A silver laced male with gold laced will make golden (yellowish whitish) laced males and silver laced females. With chamois/buff laced, he'll make mostly white looking females with random little tiny black or sooty gray bits on her plumage, same with males except they'll have yellow and orange hints on their wings, back, and neck. Mostly the neck and back. (hackle and saddle) They'll appear mostly white because of the dominant white found in buff laced birds. Crossing a silver laced male to WCB hens will get you mostly black birds with partial and varied amounts of white in their crest, but less so than the WCB parents. The males will have white streaks in their hackle, saddle, and wings.

And again, SL x GL hens = silver laced gals, golden (as in, carrying gold and silver genes) laced boys. I'm partial to silver laced Polish out of the colors you have, but that's mostly because their color is the most striking and chances are, for both the UK and America, you're going to find much nicer looking silver laced than gold laced when it comes to Polish that stand up to their breed standard. I know that doesn't matter to majority people, but, I like Polish that have meat on their bones and and a nice big, full crest and beard. Also a tail that isn't held straight up. That's just me though.

Thanks so much for your reply, it all sounds very interesting and can't wait to see what my first batch are going to turn out like. My silver laced roo (Snowy) is also a frizzle so that adds a little more interest too!!

I will be on the look out now for my new smooth roo as two of my gold laced are frizzle too :frow

Pics!! You must show pics of him. This thread needs more pics of laced roosters, and frizzled males too.

This is my other polish frizzle roo (Poppet) I'm not using him for breeding as he suffered wry neck. But I'm keeping him because he's my favourite so friendly and just love him.

Wow, that's one nice silver laced! Not every day I see one who doesn't have a squirrel tail. Man I miss having frizzles around here. Had a frizzled rooster, then got a daughter from him, had some offspring from her after her frizzled dad died, but sadly none of them ended up being frizzled and before I could get one, a predator took her too.

Polishmom1744 - Nice pics!
