Polish Thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Buff laced shouldn't have black though, right?

Hmm maybe not? I'm new with the polish interest&just about to incubate eggs for first time. Have not had the pleasure of seeing first hand all the assorted kind yet. Wish I was more help-sorry!

No buff laced/candy corn/chamois should not have black in them. Here is a candy corn/buff laced chick ~

I'm guessing chick 2 and 6 are crele/creole in colour.

I may be confused then but over here what I believe is called candy corn for you is called chamois over here in the UK.

This a chamois ~

I'm more than likely confused.com :gig

Well, I am new to this and my information could be wrong .

But if what I was told is true, that candy corn is from Tolbunt x Crele, then it would stand to reason that candy corn over here would keep the black. I see them descirbed as Cuckoo Tolbunts as well. Here is one of the posts I found about them. there really doesn't seem to be a lot of information on them

and a few posts where there is some confusion between the colors from UK and US posts on BYC. So now I am not sure what my other chipmunk guys are going to be because I thought they would be the crele

Colours, genetics and how they get the certain colours are not really my strong point and the difference from across the pond can be mind boggling :idunno

If not breeding true and crossing different colours it can produce some very odd colour assortments indeed!!

I recently got back into raising chickens. Decided it would be a fun project to do with my almost 4 year old daughter. Polish was always one of my favorite breeds. In this pic are some of the wc blues, wc blacks, along with some of the non polish bantams photo bombing lol. I also have a couple gold laced chicks and one buff chick. I am waiting for the person I got these from to have his next hatch so I can get some more.

Don't mind the shavings in the water. That was the first day I brought them home, I have since taken a 2.5 pound dumbbell weight and put it under the water to keep the shavings out.
