Polish Thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your white maybe white and not a buff. Colour genetics are not my strong point but I believe you need both parents with black and white genes to create a solid white or a solid black. Don't take this as gospel as I'm not fully sure. I will try and find you a colour chart out.

I bred white crested black hens and a silver lace roo and got either black or white chicks.

That's what has me wondering. The breeder has no whites. I'm thinking buff splash maybe.

hi, its almost karma that when I went to this site I saw your polish. I have a 3 week old polish that appears to have the same color that your Polly is. The ironic part of this is I have named her Polly and did it when I brought her home. My reason was I purchased a rare chicken breed collection and was trying to give them names that would help me remember the breed. I have Polly the Polish, Dotty and Winnie the Wyandottes, Cookie and Carla, the Cochins (Cookie is blue and Carla is brownish), Lorna and Lena the Leghorns, Bleu, my blue Andulusian and a few others that I have yet to determine their breeds. I am so looking forward to these young ladies growing up healthy and happy

Look at feather development roosters mature slower in the feather department. Hen might have no down and rooster might have some at neck. same with wings as week olds roosters develop wings slower. I had 17 and 3 were roos when i got two from the test.

Yeah. I was looking at them and There were two that had some possible rooster features so I told her to keep an eye on them. I feel a little bad though because the two that Had some rooster like features also happened to be their two favorite chicks.

That's awesome. Im just getting back into raising chickens myself. I have polish, bantam cochins, silkies, bantam wyandottes, bantams brown leghorns, bantam buff orpingtons, and a few other breeds. All the members on here are great about offering advise.

Does anyone have a lavender polish? My friend has some polish chicks but she doesn't actually know what colors they are, and one looked like it is either a blue or lavender.
