Political Ramblings

Yep they ruled that it only protected military type guns. 1930s I think. Later rulings say it protects all guns in common use for any legal purposes.
Short barreled rifles and shotguns fall under the AOW (any other weapon) category. You can actually take a double barrel shotgun and cut down the stock and the barrel effectively making a sawed off shotgun if you submit an ATF Form 1. They're really just a novelty item.

Marketing 101 - don't affiliate your product with controversy.

BYC sells advertising to chicken people, not political people. That's just the way it is.

Just why are liberal democrats afraid of fire arms? Do they actually think that the Crips and Bloods and the maras are going to disarm? That is the situation in Mexico now. The honest people are dis armed, but the criminal gangs have their own armies that are well armed, thanks to Obama and Holder.

The mass killing in the US pale in comparison to those in Mexico. In the US, it is mostly the work of crazies, but in Mexico it is the cartels.

So, just what kind of a future are the liberal democrats planning for us?

Sarah Palin - CPAC
'The divide between Washington and the rest of the country has never been greater, and it has never been more dangerous.
While America struggles, Washington prospers. And while our Real Estate markets crash, Washington's is strong.
We've suffered massive job losses, however, Washington is hiring! But the question is, they're hiring for what? They don't manufacture, they don't mine, they don't drill, they don't harvest. They produce nothing, and the services they provide, they increase dependency, not freedom. They don't create wealth, they take it. This is Obama's Washington. It's not the Washington of our founders, but the Washington of the Permanent Political Class. It is something that our Fore-fathers never envisioned. And they would have sworn their lives, their fortunes, their sacred honor to change. This Washington, it borders on 7 of the 10 wealthiest counties in America. It's now home to the highest per-capita income. Here, millionaires are minted overnight. Heck, they even have a Lamborghini Dealership here. Not that there's anything wrong with hot wheels!
But this is the playground for the Government Rich! And they're hoping that you all work really, really hard to keep her going! So, though, the people need and demand urgent reform from the growing, out-of-touch Government for freedom's sake, and to grow our small businesses, hire more people. Though we know that things must change rapidly in order to let the private sector grow, friends, there is no sense of urgency here in Obama's Washington. Because life around here is really good, materially.
Our Permanent Political Class is content. They're immune to the reality that the rest of us face. See, they exempt themselves. They play by a different set of rules. Look at, say, the EPA. The EPA is imperiling private industry. It's imperiling our energy independence, the steps we need to take to be secure, and it's enslaving us, really, to these foreign dangerous supplies of energy, instead of tapping our own God-given sources of energy here underfoot. That's what the EPA's all about right now and, you have to ask yourself, "Well, when was the last time you saw the EPA prevent constructing, say, a new Government building? Maybe, instead of calling Washington a swamp, we should call it a wet-land. Maybe that'll slow down the growth of Government.'

Well, I guess we are just serfs or peones. This does not look like a happy future. Kind of reminds me of that captain of the Italian liner ordering dinner as the ship was sinking.

I have read a couple of articles quoting Sarah Palin as of recent where she mentions the "divide" between the capitol and the rest of the nation. Anyone ever read the hunger games? When she mentions it, it's what I think of.

Seen the movie. I did hear her talk about the divide from Wash DC and the Nation and I read some other articles about it by other folks and they were all in agreement as to what led to the divide. The Washinghton DC economy is an utopia.
