Sounds like a lot of speculation. My bro lives in Norway where people pay a boatload in tax. They don't leave. When you value people rather than wealth, the tax you pay is less of an issue.

The Norwegians that I have met also have a boatload of cash left after they've paid their taxes. The same goes for Swedes who are often labelled as Socialists.

Well done them.

The biggest chunk seems to be owned by the UK: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_oil_and_gas_fields_of_the_North_Sea
And I couldn't find anything about Norway limiting their population, there seems to actually be a growth rate actually: http://www.populationmedia.org/2011/03/24/high-population-growth-in-norway/

MamaRoo, you have to distinguish between the facts and genuine opinions presented by some folk here and their spurious statements claimed to be facts.

If this is your perspective then blaming society for mass shootings seems logical...

That's a fair point. If society believes that it's OK for people easily to get hold of AR15s, then society must share the blame for the consequences.

I get this, I just hope that other people reading along will realize that backing your statements with a source you believe to be accurate is a much better way to interact on line. It's clear that anyone can post drivel and pretend it has some validity; it's much harder to actually investigate and make an intelligent, informed post.

I cant stand that guy anyway but wow...

An yes we need to bring back import taxes. A rich Texan was known for talking about the sucking sound of jobs going south. He was talking about the effect of free trade. He could not have been more right.

I also think we need to lose the income tax completely, lose the sales tax on food an then raise the sales tax on everything else to take up the slack. Other than food, we all chose how much sales tax we give the government. Works well for many states...
Yes we could raise import taxes as long as you realize that it will hurt workers in export businesses.

In Calif. we don't have taxes on food. Do most other states charge a sales tax on food ?

That discretionary wealth is invested in our nations farms, factories and stores. Without that capital available, society cannot produce and distribute the goods we need. Who do you think buys all of that stock and bonds?

Rufus, you make the oddest of statements.

A great deal of surplus wealth is salted out of the countries where it's accumulated to offshore tax havens via dodgy banks and shell companies. Capital invested in businesses at home isn't taxed in most countries. Don't get the two things confused. Even socialists understand the difference between invested capital and cash in tax havens.

My knowledge is that the Austrian government welcomed the return of their son Adolf with his army. Preparations were made to ensure that there was no effective opposition to the take-over but it was not resisted by the government. The persecution of minorities of several kinds, not just Jews, was the same as took place in other occupied European States.

MamaRoo, I think that some of it is trolling too. That's a pity when others are having a useful exchange of ideas and information.
