Political Scandals

Yep, an idiot.

It is rough being in the public service, as a politician, or actor or anyone that is constantly in the limelight. They got more drama than our relatives would do!

Someetimes I look at this, saying who cares anymore? Not my problem but I can vouch that I won't vote for him. He would have a LONG row to hoe with me to gain a vote from me.

Its hard to fathom why they do this when they have so much to loose! And it cost a lot both monetarily and physicaly and mentally to get into these positions. You would think they would be choir boy perfect just to keep their high lifestyles. I guess once they loose the respect of that life style it doesn't mean as much to them. Just a shame for all their familys and supporters.

Lord Acton was a most perceptive gentleman. He is credited with the following well known quotation: Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

History and current events would tend to prove him correct.

There was no accidentally about it. He meant to do it. He's a sleazeball and should have just come out first thing and admitted what he did, but he denied it for a week, saying his accounts were hacked, etc, etc. This has been going on for days.

Unfortunately, women have always been a perk of powerful men. They think they are owed this perk, they think that people who dislike it are annoying busybodies, and they think that women who don't allow themselves to be perks are targets, bad words, or angels, depending on their underlying attitude.

You see this in political figures, captains of industry, actors, sports figures etc. Alpha males feel they should get the pick of females. Society and the females be darn.

Well, if nothing else, the political scandal du jour is providing a motherlode of hilarity as cataloged by the LA times blog:

People in high power positions, like being a politician or a CEO, tend to have many traits of Narcissistic personality disorder. Some of those traits help someone be a good candidate for a high stress, high power position. But the good traits come with the bad, making them focused on pleasing themselves and driven for their own self interests rather than those of anyone else.

Honestly, I don't care for political scandals. They are a waste of media time and typically an overblown situation that has nothing to do with any government work.
