I loved "Mayo sandwiches" as a kid especially with miracle whip instead!

We loved the miracle whip sandwiches as kids, too! Summertime, we'd sometimes go out and pick a big tomato to slice (and/or a very thinly sliced sweet onion) to put in it. Wintertime, just MW and Ideal bread.
There was an Ideal bakery in our town. Couple times a month, my Dad would stop by the bakery back door and pick up a hot loaf or two on his way home from work. Supper those nights would be chunks of hot Ideal with homemade butter, homemade plum or blackberry jelly and whole milk from our Jersey cow.
I also still sometimes eat fried bologna, miracle whip, iceburg lettuce on white bread sandwiches. Those were my favorite!

Our butter and sugar sandwiches were made with white sugar and a little cinnamon. So good. But right now, I'm so tempted to try your brown sugar one! Oops, no white bread; grandkids polished it off earlier. Bet it would taste good on my new fav bread - Oroweat Sandwich Thins multi-grain. Sounds sooo healthy and tastes so sweet that you wonder. lol

MW, fresh tomato, white bread, bologna, lettuce; some combo of the above. None of that whole grain bread for me. Although, I can bake a killer white bread that has some oatmeal in it..... Pepperidge Farm makes one that is good, too...

There is no such thing as edible mayo, for me.

DH's favorite thing in the world (it's like pregnancy cravings to him!) is a PB & J sandwich (preferably blackberry or blueberry jam and creamy PB) on white bread and Fritos on the side. To make it a more adult meal (oppose to a little kids meal), he has a beer with it.
