As far as Ca. white, I don't think there's the same black patterning on her.
I really feel maybe she was just an Oops, with breeding. Hard to replicate something that happens that way!

She is definately a Splash I would venture to say she is a mix of Cochin and something with a rosecomb. She is beautiful

Not everyone is into "pure" breeds and sometimes you get some really pretty crosses. You just can't part with them. Like my Buckwheat, she's a marans/red friz cross and a frizzled cuckoo hen and we just like her. She lays darker than average eggs but small like her bantam mom.

That is one pretty bird.

Hrm, from the comb and tail, I'm wondering if we're looking at a diluted Exchequer leghorn hen of some sort.

We have been breeding a splash orp hen and splash orp roo this year and are surprised at the variations in the color *splash*. Some are so pale as to be solid blue, and a few are very nicely patterned. Figure they found a striking splash pattern to be on the cover.
Or, maybe it's PhotoShop!
