Iffy. I think we're over the number limit and too close to the neighbors. By like 20 feet or something. We will be cutting down our flock soon, sending 5 to the processor and 7 to new homes, so we're going to be closer to legal. If I can just bring myself to get rid of all my roos, I'm sure no one would complain.

I think I'm legal. The humane society said they couldn'd do anything if I had them so go ahead and get them as I was only the second call about chickens, the online animal by-laws left out chickens but oddly enough included animals like seals. Not many people keep BYC in st.catharines,Ontario I guess to even make an issue of it. I'm getting 2 layers in the spring

Totally against the rules for my HOA.

SShhhhh...... and FYI, you can have horses, but not chickens in our HOA. What gives? I think I'm safe with my 3 girls since my neighbor has about 23 chickens - LOL. I blame any clucking on those crazy neighbors of mine - LOL. Not from my yard, no sir. Oh you saw one in my yard? Musta jumped the fence from the crazy chicken people.

Legal. Most neighborhoods in Reno have a ton of CC&Rs, but mine doesn't. The only thing the city bylaws say about chickens is: They must be kept on our property, and if we get 10,000 or more we must install a special system for waste removal.

Can you see those of us living in tract homes having 10,000 chickens? Course some of my neighbors would love to get the laws amended even though I don't keep any roosters (to be considerate of the neighbors). We have neighbors on the next street over that complain about EVERYTHING! Even complain when the kids go out and play hoops for a little while! Luckily both my next-door neighbors love my chickens and the fresh eggs!
