We had a 300+lb feeder calf that was attacked and mauled by a Rottweiler. He was alone in the barn Sick Bay for and wasn't responding to treatment. I happened to be driving past a construction site, they were remodeling an apartment building. There were piles of old mirrored medicine cabinets I stopped and asked for the mirrors. I put the mirrors around the Sick Bay stall, the calf was very happy with all his new mirrored friends.

How sweet!

Here it is at dawn this morning. I can take more if needed

I don't give mine toys, I give them jobs. I compost their old bedding and when I muck the coops out I leave it a pile in the composting area.

The same goes when I add new bedding to the coop or run, or I have sand, wood chips, etc that I need spread around an area I just leave in a pile in the middle of wherever.

Depending on the weather and their boredom level that pile gets spread around in a matter of hours or days.

They even clear the lawn of fallen leaves in the fall.

If there's one thing chickens love, it's sifting through a big pile of debris for bugs. They get entertained, and I get work done for me.

I've had chicks who would chase a laser pointer or reflections of sunlight but they grew out of it.

My outdoor chickens have a xylophone that they occasionally peck at, not so much now as when it was new though. The rooster occasionally gets like mad at it and will peck at it pretty hard lol

My house chicken really likes those parrot toys with the strips of paper. She enjoys ripping off the strips of paper and eating them. She also has a mirror that she spends a lot of time standing in front of.

I cut apart a old bike frame where the tire is and mounted that to the 4x4s holding up the roof. I can get more pictures tomorrow

I've given mine jingly plastic cat balls, a xylophone, various bird toys, and a few stuffed animals. My younger birds will play with the toys for short periods, before losing interest in them. Until they suddenly discover them again. My squeaky stuffed rooster seems to be the most popular of the stuffed animals, with little ones sitting under his floppy legs.
