used to have parakeets, had one named Elvis ( ok i carbon dated myself) loved him to death, came home from school one day to find him with a broken neck, he got his head caught in one of those stupid toys they make for parakeets. Be careful what you give them to play with.

Get a notebook and write down all your passwords there.

Next time buy a Google phone.
I forget passwords all the time so I just use my fingerprint to log into everything.

I couldn't agree more. So many toys are just flat-out dangerous and even safe toys can become problematic if they're worn out.

My last phone had gotten cracked and kept cutting my fingers open so I got a replacement one since I still have a warranty.

I should have written down all my password first, I've had to reset a few already and now I'm having trouble with one lol

Finches are lovely. As with any bird, be careful where you buy them—I was sold sick finches that weren't fledged properly. Live and learn, I guess.

finches are obnoxious little..... id say NO on them, you won't be happy. They 34%#$k constantly when they are not fighting, and don't take care of the little ones. The only thing missing from that setup was the PBR. They are the trailer park trash of the bird world IMO.

That probably depends on the type of finch as well as the setup.

That perch does look like its time is through. Various wooden and natural sisal-type rope chew toys may help keep them from destroying your perches. Foraging toys are MUCH better than things like mirrors, which can cause severe behavioural issues. I had one bird that basically developed psychotic symptoms due to mirror use.
Stainless steel bowls are better because they're easier to sanitize and harbour less bacteria. Even if you wash them frequently, plastic can still grow colonies of disgusting things which can decrease the lifespan of your bird. The only plastic feeder I have left is for their cuttlebone.

Thanks for all the tips! I’ll take the perch out. Do you think I should replace it or leave it out? I just found I have another one I had forgotten about but idk if I should put it in or not?

They do actually have some other toys in there but they never use them anymore. maybe it’s time to switch them out or put some of the old ones back in. They might be bored I think.

This is what’s in there now and then I also have these other ones I can put in. They seemed kind of scared of the big grassy thing when I had it in there, didn’t care about the rings, and the bridge they used to use all the time but then stopped and it was in the way for dancing hahah I might move it to a different spot though. And maybe get some different toys.

For the mirror, I thankfully haven’t noticed any issues with him and he seems extremely happy with it so I hate to get rid of it if it’s bad though I will but he doesn’t really tend to use it very much anyway. He goes in front of it typically once or twice a day and has singing sessions. he’ll go and chatter and sing and dance and everything in front of it but he flies around the cage too, doesn’t just stay in front of it, he’ll go from there to the top, and seems so happy

I’ll watch him carefully though and take it out if I spot any issues but so far he doesn’t seem to be a mirror addict or psycho
