Didn't notice this thread until now, and just happened to make salad today (open chicken souvlaki as we call it in these parts). Didn't get the pita bread in the picture but oh well, use your imagination

I can agree, some types do. All the lettuce I've tried to grow definitely tastes like dirt! I think the taste might be effected by the temperature at what it's grown. Ice berg is the best (tasteless).

That makes sense!! I do like ice berg. And some home grown lettuce I’ve had has been good. Others not so much. Arugula is the worst. I like kale and spinach when cooked but it’s kinda chewy.
