Poll: What time did the post office call you??

I was called between 6:30 and 7:00 am... I slept through it- but luckily it woke up my Mother!

I was called around 5:30 and told to go to the back door. I live in a small town near a big city.

On the day that I expect the chicks...I CALL THEM! Between 5:30-6 a.m. Never fails...the chicks are always there and I pick them up at a side door - chit chat for a moment with the postal worker...they are always curious about the shipment - and then I wisk the babies home for a drink and to get cozy.

6:30 am. They call as soon as the truck arrives from the hub. I have a small town post office and am one of about four people a year who orders chicks. Our postal delivery lady buys eggs from us!

McMurry wanted to charge me 10 dollars extra to deliver my order to the local post office,i don't know why, so i got a call at 6am from the PO the next town over.

Idea did deliver at my PO with no extra charge and my friend at the PO called me at 7am.

About 8 or 9 am,they have been going to the next town over so either I or my post office goes and gets em....

The truck never gets to ours before 11 am. I always have my chicks mailed on Monday and they have always been delivered on Wed between 11am and 1 pm. I've picked up chicks four times and this June when I get my last shipment that will be the last from hatcheries I think. We'll be breeding our own in 3 coops

This time they called at around 11am. The poor chicks had been there since early that morning but the post office wouldn't answer their phone. I had gone by the day before and left my name and number and asked them to call me ASAP (and they thought I was crazy for doing that and said they would call the number on the box). I guess that tactic didn't work.

Last time they didn't call at all. They sent out a special truck to the house with the box. That was nice of them but I suspect it was because I had ordered 4 older birds from a breeder and the rooster was crowing up a storm in the box. It was probably self-preservation for them. They wanted to get rid of him!

The time before that they called around 9am.

The time before that they lost them for a day. Seriously.

Mine said 7:00 am or as soon as the truck arrives. I live in rural upstate NY. My drive will be about 5 miles to the PO.
