One more reason to move to the boonies... and get a very secure fence and gate... and big dogs... between my sister and DH's brother... urk.

That's the main snag in The Plans... making it work so's no one notices long enough for us to move the heck away.

I agree, I would build a nice place for my folks as well. Plus give them enough to travel and live comfortably.

My dreams are what gives me hope during the dark days.
I have big plans:
*Pay off certain family members debts, including our own, then set up perpetually paying funds for a certain $ amount each month to live on
*Set up college/trust funds for our 4 children
* Help out a few of my good friends that have been there for me when the chips have been down.
*Move to upstate NY in the boonies and buy a ton of acerage
*Build Dream house, barn, etc........ on said acerage
*Go shopping and be able to buy the much needed clothes, and everday items that we never seem to have enough $ for.
*Replace our delaptiated old vehicles with some newer ones
*Travel to Ireland and Scotland, buy property in each.
*Take the kids on a vacation, my oldest son is 18 and we have never taken a vacation! Yikes, we def. need to change that.

I have my dream so detailed, If I won today I would be off and running. I don't want a limo, or a big fancy palace, I just want the peace of mind knowing that we can live comfortably and enjoy ourselves and our animals.

*Forgot to add:
I can imagine all the "friends and relatives" that will come out of the woodwork, but I figure it's my money, and I'm real good at saying NO, so they can kiss my backside.

If I won the lottery I would :
1. Pay off my debts
2. Buy (or more likely build) a 4 bdrm house on a big acerage (+ a small house FAR on the other side of the acerage for my mom)
3. College fund for my daughter (+ some extra in savings for her)
4. get someone to build me a stable and 2 great big nice sectional coops

and a small pond (if one isn't already on property)
5. animals - 2 horses, nice chickens, more ducks, and the collie I SO badly want
6. Put 2/3 of whats left in savings/CDs
7. donate to local animal rescue annually

Are here others out there who would invest in a dream business? My thought is that if we make it work for us then it will be there for generations to come. Well, assuming the kids don't run it into the ground when we die.

You don't have to give details (some business plans are better kept secret), I'm just curious if I'm the only weirdo out there that wants to keep working.
