I’ve never seen a hooded crow! It’s so pretty. Not as pretty as Thelma and Louise, but very cool!

they're really big. they're usually around in couples, but there's not a whole load of them like the rooks and jackdaws. and they have a sort of deeper voice.
i don't think they're as friendly as the crows (rooks) either. but maybe that's just me 🤷🏻‍♀️

I think they're just cleverer and more solitary and independent. If you do manage to make friends with one, you'll have a firm friend for life - unless you do something to upset them, in which case they might teach their mate, offspring and any other birds they interact with that you're the enemy!

i'm nice to all the birds that visit my garden. i won't upset them. and i will make sure to tell the husband that just in case.
he swung a swooping swallow away one summer and they would dive bomb him every time they saw him after that. that was not a good summer for him 😂
i think he might have learned a good lesson from that 😂😂😂

Crows don't just recognise individuals, they're known to teach others that a person is "good" or "bad" even if the other bird wasn't there to witness the person being good or bad first-hand.

I have a pal who made friends with a pair of carrion crows (the ones that are like hoodies but all black - the two species are closely enough related that they can cross breed) and they now bring their babies to meet him every year. When he's late filling the bird bath they like to dunk food in, they come and tap on the kitchen window :lau
