you wouldn't guess from this picture, but it stormed
all
day

and the forecast doesn't look great for tomorrow.
i'd rather the storms happen at night instead.
it steals the day.

had lunch in the bird district today, when out of nowhere came a whole lot of hail. there were some people eating outside. poor dummies.

she's had a feather stuck to her comb for a good while now. dirt in her nostrils. and she still has paint on her.

i love that about thelma. she keeps me laughing!

i am a little worried about the dirt in her nose, though. how much is too much? and should i try to clean it out somehow?

It usually seems to clean itself out eventually. I wouldn't worry unless it starts to look like it's getting properly blocked, or she starts acting in a way that suggests it's bothering her (shaking her head a lot or scratching at it, for example)

she was breathing out of her mouth for a minute earlier. i kept an eye on her, and it didn't last long, but i thought how would i even get dirt out of there!? it's not like a kid where you hold up a tissue and say "blow!"
