Polycarbonate Roofing... too hot?

Can you take a pic of this stuff? I want to see if it is what I am thinking. I too am in WA in the key penninsula. With our few weeks of over 90-100 did the chickens get hot? I think I am doing part of my roof in this and the other part just normal roofing.

This is the only photo that I have of the roofing. If you need to find additional photos, it's the smoked grey SunTuf by Palram. It's polycarbonate material.

I'm in San Diego and our coop is completely open all four sides. I know we don't get as much cold as you do but our ladies have been just fine at night. We are currently building our permanent run and we plan to wire the whole thing and put shade cloth over the top and the top half of the south facing side.

I feel your pain.. my chicks are 1, 2 and 3 weeks old. My initial plan was to transition a 6x8’ aluminum greenhouse with polycarbonate panels in roof and sides. Now I’m beginning to wonder if it won’t be too hot for them in zone 7b, charlotte, North Carolina. If I cover the panels with the shade cloth y’all are talking about, will that block the heat or would it be best to just use the frame and remove the polycarbonate panels and use plywood for roof and walls? I just thought it would be good for warmth winter but summer, I don’t won’t them to get to hot!! Help!!!!

@Debra Bame This is a pretty old thread and several of the posters have not been active on BYC in a while. You might get better/more responses if you start your own new thread.
