I am offering limited pairs and trios of Rapanui landrace fowl from Easter Island and Pohnpei, the Raraku and Ponape respectively. These unique chickens were brought over by ancient Polynesian seafarers to the islands many years ago and were kept and maintained by their respective cultures for centuries. During the colonial period European tradesmen brought foundry stock back to Europe, and have been kept in various forms by poultry fanciers since. Many of the stock were bred to create various Dutch Bantam breeds.

Raraku are from Easter Island, are bantam in size, and lay eggs ranging from blue to green to tinted. They can be clean faced, or bearded, and usually have clean legs. My Raraku lay eggs in all the colors listed above, and are very smart about predators and are seemingly very disease resistant, I have yet to lose one in my area riddled with coyotes and hawks.
My Ponape Fowl are typically larger than the Raraku and usually have beard-muffs, may have feathered legs, and lay white or tinted eggs. They are generally very pleasant and enjoy hanging around as we do yard work. They are less flighty than the Raraku on average. Like the Raraku, they are predator savvy and disease resistant. Both of these birds are hardy, great free-rangers, and carry with them an incredible history and ancestry.
