Pond heating??

I need help. It is really starting to get cold here in Colorado and my duck pond is freezing. I’ve been looking into pond deciders but the lowest wattage I can find is 300 and my current limit is 100. I know it’s bad, we’ve been looking into getting our electricity upgraded but it’s very expensive and either way it’ll be awhile before we can get it. I get what the internet calls ‘extreme cold’ so a floating basket ball or black tub will not work (I’ve tried). What do you use for your animals water during the winter? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

This is what I have in my horses’ water trough. It’s 100watt de-icer I had a snow storm yesterday and it developed a skim of ice around the edges, with an open area about 12” across where the element sits.

I threw a bucket of hot water over the ice in the trough to melt the ice then threw my piece of plywood over the trough.

At night I cover the trough with some plywood to help keep the air over the water warmer. As this 100w one doesn’t warm the water enough to keep the whole trough ice free.

I have a 500Watt one but it keeps throwing the fuses here at the barn as I only have so much power running out here.
