More than likes. Wants to catch her and kill her. He has "THE" look. The look that says not to trust him with anything.

Why is it the poodle will kill at the first chance, but the Shih Tzu and ferret get along great? To the point of playing "pop goes the weasel" and tag?

I have to lock Pogo up each time but can allow Vida to play with the ferret. I will NEVER allow Pogo out with the ferret, not even on a leash. Is it simply a matter of different dogs have different personalities? Or is there something deeper ingrained in him?

I'm sorry all, I posted in the wrong forum thanks to using multiple tabs. Sorry! Working on having it moved right now!

One nip on a poodle nose by needle-sharp ferret teeth ought to solve the problem. LET the ferret do it.

It's happened, through the cage bars. It made Pogo lust after her even more. Apparently Pogo needs a hobby, because when I just took him out on the leash to do his business, he ticked off a bumblebee which sat there hovering over Pogo. I was thinking of running because I didn't want to be on the receiving end. Neither did Pogo. He jumped up and took it down. Down to Chinatown. He literally jumped 3 feet into the air and snatched the thing out of the air. Freaky.

I must find an outlet for this dog...

Prey drive? I dunno.... My Shar-Pei loved my ferrets. They would play hide and seek all over the house. Once in a while one would go walking past with a ferret dangling by it's tail in their mouth! But the ferrets didn't seem to mind. The dog would let them loose and the ferrets would be ready to play all over again.

That's the weird thing...his prey drive is nothing compared to Vida. She will chase something that is 10x her size just to try it. She's the one that will sneak up on a duck like a cat and then pounce (she never kills...just likes to see how close she gets I think?). Pogo doesn't really "play". So I guess his prey drive could be higher. But why? I mean, he's a poodle? I just never figured he'd the one, but I guess I could see it. He does seem to have the same drive as a shepherd, always herding poor Vida around.

Goose loves playing with Vida, doing the Joy Dance around her, jumping in and going underneath Vida, Vida chasing her, Goose jumping out and goosing Vida with her nose.

Interesting..
