Pool day?

I have a little artificial pond on our property, it's been really hot in SoCal recently but none of them go anywhere near it even though it's really accessible. When I see this, beside having a lot of sympathy for the pool guy.. I wonder how this happened

My chickens hated when I put them in a shallow pan of water to cool off so I can’t imagine a chicken willingly getting into a pool.

I don't think it's photoshopped...just staged.
Chickens can float, but not for long.

Believe me, chickens are NOT swimmers. They are not built like ducks. I’m sorry, but you’ll need to just either let them drink it or provide another method of keeping them cool.

I had my chickens in water yesterday as it was hot and humid, however it only went to their bums, and they stayed in there for about 2 minutes. I didn't have to force them to stay there, I put the water on their wings and chest and they let me do it, then off they went.

Water must be a stay-away-from survival deep chicken DNA thingy...

We had to bathe / blow dry Mrs White (think of an 11lb Light Brahma who think she's a dude.. my wife's theory... the Boss around here... Mrs W that is, although it's prob a toss lol)... lol... but the dingleberries were starting to solidify.. she wasn't too happy and she's usually pretty chill, shots, trimming and all... she behaved like a cowboy getting a pedicure... she looked good for about 45 secs... then gave herself a dust bath.

Misting system has been on my mind... glad to hear it's out there. I thought i was obsessing .

Pool is gated but that must suck losing a girl like this. I've pulled out lot of critters off the pool.. saved a bird in March, poor guy was in hypothermia, wrapped in a towel, held him for a while and he was good, chlorine and all. Then he pooped on my hood but we're cool.

They free range all day but they always end up by the patio area late afternoon; on timers from 2-6 to keep the dust from off the furniture when the wind kicks in.
