Agreed, it sounds like the intent is to use the ladder for supports for wood roosts. Is it metal? I would not use a metal perch for the chickens.

If it's just for fun in the run, and not their night time roost, it'll be fine.I'm sure someone has made roost bars from a pool ladder....does anyone have any pictures of what they've done? Looking for some inspiration as I've gotten one for free and I'd like to set something up in the run for the girls. In my head, I'd like to run some 2x4's or 2x2's across the ladder steps, but I just can't think of a way to do it to prevent them pooping on anyone below lmao. Thanks!
Yes, the frame of the ladder is metal, steps are plastic. I was thinking of attaching wood to the steps going across, basically using the ladder itself just as a support, if that makes sense. The run is covered 100% with hardware cloth, so they can't escapeAgreed, it sounds like the intent is to use the ladder for supports for wood roosts.
