After reading the article, on this sight, about chicks who when raised in a brooder where they could see out the sides, became much less scared and friendlier chickens, I decided to build a brooder with a view for my ducklings. I cut/melted a large rectangle out of the side of a large plastic tub with a soldering iron, edged it with duct tape and covered it with a gutter-screen door. So far, it is working really well. Today, they are four days old. Every few hours, I open the screen door and let them swim. They make it a party. Spring Break duckling style!
