Poop Board Height

I've searched and read a bunch of threads but couldn't find anything on how far the poop board should be from the roosting bar.

Assuming I'll have minimal sand in the box to help with sifting and cleaning, how far off the board should the bar be?

I have read 6" or so, that way if they lay an egg from the roost it will not break. IDK for sure though. I do not plan on a poop board.

how far the poop board should be from the roosting bar.

My roost are removable 2x4 in cups on the flat side up held in place with 2x2 blocking. The poop board is only 3½" (the actual with of a 2x4) from the bottom of the roost.

that way if they lay an egg from the roost it will not break.

My poop board is covered with vinyl flooring and I keep it bare my roost is only 4' long. I remove my roost and scrap off my board only once a week no sand, no shavings, no sifting, no problem.
