Poop board lip/edge

I’m debating leaving my poop board flat or adding a raised lip/edge to keep the PDZ contained to mainly the poop board.

Does this method work or will it end up on the floor from chicken traffic anyway?

It works. You only need half an inch or so of pdz. We used a 2x2 as a lip and it came in handy to stop the poop from falling off while scooping too.

I used a 1x4 on the 2x12 poop board. I just use sand though, with proper air flow it dries out too and I can change it out every year and it's cheap. Full story here.

I use 1 x 4 furring strip on edges of poop boards , works great and they are cheap at Home Depot or Lowes .

I put a second perch on the poop board edge, and am happy with the result.

If you're going to use PDZ you need a lip.
Mines a 2x2.
