Poop Boards and Roost sizes

Its been awhile since I built my old coop.. I made some poop boards and roost yesterday but I realized they are not gonna be deep enough (deep enough to catch the poop if they all face inward to the coop and not out the windows) . How deep / wide (front to back wall) are your roost boards? Im reading min 9" for he roost itself from the wall.. My coop is small and I am trying not to take it all up with roosts.. LOL so depth of the poop boards from front to back NOT how many inches your actual roost board sits off of it..
Most of mine have always slept facing inward to the coop I spose.. but right now the little girls are flying up and falling down cuz I had to more the roost board out to the edge of the board.. If this doesnt make sense, just ask... need coffee and glasses.. LOL

Perhaps you can take a few photos of the interior and/or provide some dimensions so that we can better suggest some adjustments that you could make to address the problems you are having? Meausrements used by others aren't going to be that helpful if they are working with a coop that is configured differently.
