Poop! Cuz who doesn't want to take a look

Was looking at the chooks poop today and noticed this. Does this indicate worms? It's the white plastic shells almost. They look like shards of little plastic or something. New owner we are about 19 weeks old.

It looks like dander from moulting. Are there any feathers around the coop?

To me it looks like the feather casings of new feathers. When feathers come in, they are like pins (at molt, some chickens resemble porcupines). Then, the casings come off to reveal fresh feathers. But they come off in little pieces.

There are feathers everywhere. Thought it was normal and has been going on for a while. But they are not bald or look any different.

At 19 weeks they will be having a juvenile moult. It normally lasts a week or two. Sometimes it can be longer. Are they still on growers pellets? They are better for them when they moult as they have more protein to help the new feathers grow.

I have them on all flock pellets. I think it's 18% protein. Nutriwise from Blaine's.Going to keep them on that and do oyster shell when I see first egg.

You actually should start offering a dish of oyster shell now...a few weeks before they lay.
