(I laughed too)

Because they 'pop' in and 'pop' out of the door.

Seriously Ben, you did a good job and I like that you saved the turbine vents.

Instead of a cover I fashioned a Z type entrance to the pop door. this stops the wind but can also be left open all the time.

Actually i had to buy new ones. while i was working i managed to drop stuff on them and they warped.i got brown ones to match the weathered wood shingles i put on.the only thing i was able to save besides the frame was 1 door and a set of stairs

Does anyone have cloth or plastic over there poop door to stop the wind and hold in the heat. if so,does it freak the birds out or do they just push it aside?
I used to have strips of vinyl siding that I cut into 4 inch strips attached to the pop door.
It takes awhile for them to get used to it and it is best to hang just one or two up at a time until they feel comfortable with the new system before adding the balance.

My pop door is only 9x12 inches and I since discarded this system for all the good it was doing.
