I have over fifty water contains for my chickens around the property and a pond they can drink out of. Last week I notice that one contain was covered and full of poop. I took it to the house to clean and checked all the rest, nothing all clean. The nest day I put the clean container back in a different spot, when I checked the container the following day, it was full of poop again. I have cleaned this container three times and placed it in a different spot each time only to found it dirty the next day. It is like they roost on it. Has anyone else ever had this happen? It is only this one container that they dirty. I have seen them do something like this when cooped up all the time, but never when free ranged.

I deal with this, too, although my ladies aren't as spoiled as yours

. They have a waterer inside the chicken house, and one outside. For whatever reason they manage to get the one outside ABSOLUTELY filthy. And even though it's heavy, they occasionally manage to knock the thing over (they do like to roost on top).

I think chickens are like people. They have their favorite spots, and that's what they like to stick with. Maybe you could raise it up on a cinder block? Not sure that would eliminate the problem, but might help.

I have this problem with my turkeys. I swear those two are the most pooping Thanksgiving hens in the country. I have to scrub their waterer every single day. Fill it up nice and clean and by evening the trough is filled with poop. It is disgusting.

Putting in on a cinder block so that it is above their back should help. If you think they are roosting on the waterer, tape an inverted funnel on the top.
