Poop on my chicken

One of my chickens must have been pooped on cuz it’s around her whole neck. There is a separation of the feathers there also. Obviously she can’t clean it and I’m worried it could make her sick or possibly the other chickens in with her. Should I have a friend help me hold her and wash it off? It looks awful. All the brown color just under the black. There is another spot on her other side area.

Doesn't look like poop to me, but then I might not know. If it was my chicken, and I was worried, I'd wash her. There's articles on here about how to do that.

Or you could let her preen it out over time. Chickens are around poop a lot, so I wouldn't think there are germs she hasn't seen before.

My chickens sat in a mud puddle in the run that coated a lot of their under feathers. It dried and was crusted on there. But it wasn't poop, and it didn't bother them, so I let them work it off over time. A week later, hardly any more mud left. I figured they'd be better at preening it out than I would be. My "beak" is just not as good as theirs.

If you feel she needs cleaned up then give her a neck a washing. Use a mild baby shampoo or a little dawn dishsoap.
All you need to do is wash the affected areas. Dry her well. If it's cold where you are, then use a hair dryer to dry her.
