Poop picture

This chicken was eating drinking and acting normal. Then found her dead under the coop. I have never seen any of my chickens with this color poop before. Can anyone tell me??

You could send the carcass to your state poultry lab to know what happened.
What state are you in?

Sorry for your loss. I have only seen that color poop with eating red cabbage or blueberries. The caked on poop looks like she has been having diarrhea and possibly problems passing droppings because it was caked. Did you notice any symptoms of lethargy, not laying eggs, weight loss, or a crop disorder? Most state poultry vets can do a necropsy to find a cause of death. Here is a list of them to contact:

She hasn’t started laying yet I check pretty frequently for wet butts but I do have a decent amount of birds I could have missed it. She had a decent weight breast bone not sticking out or anything.

We do not my neighbor has chickens too I doubt she would.

I was going to ask that, it's the exact color of the mouse/rat poison blocks an exterminator used at an old house of mine (before chickens).

If you can send the body this am to the state lab, you could get an answer. I would think if this was caused by rat poison, there would be signs of bleeding from the beak or vent. But someone else may have a suggestion about the droppings.
