My girls are 6 weeks old. They have been Outside in coop now the last couple of days. One of them has runny poop. Should I be concerned?
Yesterday I gave them some meal worms. Too much, too soon? I gave them some lettuce today. They have grit and feed and water.
What is your best recommendation to cut back on the flies?
Any recommendations for shoes to wear into the coop.? I’m thinking Crocs? I live in Calif.

Chicken Poop comes in multiple shapes, sizes, colors, smells etc etc. Get used to it, everybody does it.

And get you a cheap pair of rubber boots from Tractor Supply or somewhere similar and use them when you enter the coop area.

As far as flies and bugs, we just keep adding a bit of pine shavings and grass clippings to the Run area of our Coop and some wheat straw when necessary and let the deep litter composting do what composting does!

;)

I like crocs for summertime chicken chores.
They are fairly smooth soled so easy to wipe any poop off on the grass on the way back to the house, and they are easily hosed off if necessary.

DE will not kill flies at any stage of their life.
