I compost as well. If you don't garden and don't want it, ask around and offer it to any neighbors or friends who might be gardeners, they might be happy to take it all off your hands.

Buckets of bird poop are unceremoniously dumped in a compost heap, far away from the house, and left to age until it becomes magic fertilizer.

We do the same!

I use any sort of garden or lawn waste that doesn't get tossed directly into the chicken run as-is.

I use hemp under the roost. Breaks down much more readily than wood chips (which is the rest of the coop & run) and sifts out a lot better too, so I can stretch its usage.

I spot clean daily but full cleanout is now once a year.
